Hawii Big Island, Hilo side, 2005

Beautiful Akaka falls

At the farmer's market in downtown Hilo

A secluded park that Roy, PY, and few others know about

It was windy at the volcano that day

Hot lava cooled on the outside, but ran freely inside, forming this 'lava tube' discovered by a man named Thurston

Crater near the active eruption. You can see offerings to Pele, the volcano god. Cooled, once-molten, lava appears at the bottom.

Hot steam emerges from this vent. Don't burn your hands!

Tropical flowers abound

Wow, what a nice new van!

On the table in our room at the Hilo Hawaiian hotel

When the weather is always nice, you don't need walls!

Mom and her orchids at the grower's greenhouse

Another breathtaking specimen!
